Games with real living cells

The Riedel-Kruse lab at Stanford University invented "Biotic Games", i.e., human players interact with real living single celled microorganisms. These new "Human Biology Interactions" provide realism and user experiences not obtainable with any conventional electronic medium as these microorganisms are far from understood. Biotic games have many educational and research applications.

Biotic Games: Tangible interacting with real living biological cells

- We invented a new medium (biotic video games) that enables interaction with real living cells.
- Biotic video games provide realism and user experiences not obtainable with electronic video games.
- We have developed multiple biotic game platforms (phone, online, arcade style) - and assessed them for their educational value.
- These new game medium has significant potential for education and life-science research.
- We bring expertise in bioengineering and education.
- We can integrate biotechnology into smart phones.
